Most stories in [[Occultation and Other Stories]] and all(?) stories in [[The Beautiful Thing That Awaits Us All]] take place in the Pacific Northwest and specifically in the state of Washington. Some of the locations in Washington State where Barron's stories take place: [[The Broadsword (Building)]] Hotel in [[Olympia, WA]], which appeared in [[The Broadsword (Story)]], [[Hand of Glory (Story)]] and [[Jaws of Saturn]]. [[Mount Mystery]] on the [[Olympic Peninsula]] is the backdrop for [[The Men from Porlock]], [[Mysterium Tremendum]] and also appears under a slightly different name in [[The Croning]]. The [[Slango Camp]] at the foot of the mountain is a key location in The Croning and The Men from Porlock. [[The Redfield Girls]] takes place at [[Lake Crescent]] on the Olympic Peninsula. The region around [[Yakima, WA]] is briefly mentioned in Mysterium Tremendum and is the main location of the story [[--30--]]. The region known as [[Ransom Hollow]], the town [[Olde Towne]] and its [[Black Ram Lodge]] are featured in Hand of Glory and [[Blackwood's Baby]], [[Catch Hell]] and The Croning. [[Laird Barron]] himself used to live in Washington State. The other places he's lived, [[Alaska]] and [[Upstate New York]], are heavily featured in his works as well. #Location
