Tiptoe is a story first featured in the anthology [When Things Get Dark](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/57473913-when-things-get-dark) and later published in Barron's short story collection [[Not A Speck Of Light (Book)]]. The story takes place in [[Upstate New York]], more specifically in the mid-Hudson Valley. The main character's father works in the city of Kingston, which places the events in Tiptoe somewhere in the vicinity of the location of the story [[Strident Caller]], [[Not A Speck Of Light (Story)]] and others. The story features a [[Dogs|dog]] named Odin. Like other dogs in Barron's works, Odin is named after a deity. [[Photography]] is an important theme in the story. At the beginning of the story, there's a brief mention of the mysterious entities known as Mimis. Mimis are also mentioned in the story [[Hallucigenia]] and the [[Antiquity]] tale [[Uncoiling]]. #Story #Speck
