The Imago Sequence and Other Stories is the first short story collection by Laird Barrron, first published in 2007. The book contains the following stories: [[Old Virginia]] [[Shiva, Open Your Eye]] [[Procession of the Black Sloth]] [[Bulldozer]] [[Proboscis]] [[Hallucigenia]] [[Parallax]] [[The Royal Zoo Is Closed]] [[The Imago Sequence]] --- This collection of stories has little known ties to the [[Children of Old Leech]], the alien entities featured in all later story collections. The main antagonists in these stories are often described as "[[They who]] dwell in the dark", "They who wait", or "They who love you" (citation needed?) These might not be the same entities as the Children of Old Leech, but I'm not sure. Barron himself has stated that they are part of something else, and perhaps something bigger (did he? source?). The stories in this book might tie in more with Barron's universe where [[Transhumanism]] plays a big role, and less so with the Mythos of [[Old Leech]]. See also [[Multiverse]]. #Book #Imago
