The Slango logging camp or timber facility at the foot of [[Mount Mystery]] on the [[Olympic Peninsula]] ([[Washington State]]) is a recurring location in Barron's fiction appearing in both [[The Men from Porlock]] and [[The Croning]].
The disappearance of the Slango Camp at the end of The Men from Porlock is mentioned in (the seventh edition of) [[The Black Guide]], featured in [[Mysterium Tremendum]].
In The Croning, Don [[Miller]] compares the complete abandonment of the Slango Camp following the events of The Men from Porlock to the old, American colonial mystery known as the [[Croatoan|Lost Colony]], a recurring theme in Barron's works.
