Karla sports a tattoo of a shrike, perhaps indicating her allegiance to an Antiquity alter ego or [[Mrs. Shrike]] from [[Don't Make Me Assume My Ultimate Form]]. A warlock with the name [[Jon]] Hand makes an appearance in this story. This might be the same person (or his mirror, counterpart, something?) as the warlock Jon Foot from [[A Clutch]] and the magician named Jon Foote who plays a part in the third [[Isaiah Coleridge Series]] novel [[Worse Angels]]. [[The Great Dark]] is mentioned in the story. The 'Westward Expansion' of the kingdom, also mentioned in The One We Tell Bad Children, is briefly mentioned in the story. A Mr. Speck is mentioned in the story. this might be the Antiquity alter ego of Mr. Speck from [[Tomahawk Park Survivors Raffle]].
