Miller is one of the old family names reappearing in multiple of Barron's stories.
The protagonist of [[The Men from Porlock]] is simply called Miller. He is a young army veteran who served as a sniper in the marines during WWI. Miller is an acquaintance of [[Blackwood's Baby]]'s protagonist [[Luke Honey]] according to [this blog post](https://lairdbarron.wordpress.com/2013/08/28/luke-honey-miller/).
Don or Donald Miller is the main protagonist of [[The Croning]]. In The Croning, the protagonist of The Men from Porlock is confirmed to be related to Don Miller when he is told the following: _"Your elder cousin burned the village down in 1923"_ (The Croning, p. ).
The opening chapter of the Croning is completely different from the rest of the book, and is set in the timeline known as [[Antiquity]]. In this opening chapter, the name (or profession of) Miller is also instantly mentioned:
"That venerable fairytale of the Miller’s daughter and the Dwarf who helped her spin straw into gold has a happy ending in the popular version. The events that inspired the legend, not so much." (The Croning, chapter 1)
This seems to refer merely to the profession instead of a family name, but gets ambiguous because of the capitalization of the word 'Miller'. On the other hand, other roles in this story such as Queen, Groom, Spy and Dwarf are also capitalized. So it is uncertain whether this Miller has any connection to the main protagonist of the rest of the novel and the larger Miller family, but... probably.
Morris Miller is a character mentioned in [[The Broadsword (Story)]] as being part of the main character's crew who surveyed the [[Olympic Peninsula]] wilderness back in 1973.
Alongside the Millers, the [[Redfield]] and [[Arden]] families also seem to play some part in Barron's universe throughout the years.
