Isaiah Coleridge is the main protagonist of the [[Isaiah Coleridge Series]] of novels. Isaiah is an ex-mob enforcer turned private detective. Isaiah is half-Maori, has a great compassion for animals, a love for ancient Greek mythology and a talent for both receiving and dishing out damage. Isaiah used to work for the maffia in [[Alaska]] but gets exiled after betraying his employers after witnessing them killing walrusses for fun. He moves to Upstate New York where he gets entangled in multiple crime mysteries and starts working as a private detective. While at first merely dealing with grounded problems and villains, Isaiah's stories become increasingly weird. In the third book, [[Worse Angels]], it is strongly implied that his stories take place in the same universe as [[Old Leech]] and the [[Children of Old Leech]]. In this third novel, Isaiah meets up with famous scientists [[Toshi Ryoko]] and [[Howard Campbell]], who are now retired and live together with their bodyguard [[Beasley]]. In the same novel, Isaiah also has a confrontation with recurring villain [[Tom Mandibole]]. He is supposedly meeting [[Jessica Mace]] in an upcoming story, further confirming the shared universe of the Coleridge novels and Barron's other stories. Isaiah Coleridge has two siblings with whom he has little contact: Erika and Jordan. --- ### __Antiquity Alter Ego__ Isaiah Coleridge, his dog Minerva and his sidekick Lionel Robard have their own [[Alter Ego]]s in the world of [[Antiquity]], first introduced in [[Uncoiling]] and _maybe_ foreshadowed in [[The One We Tell Bad Children]]. --- ### __The Blood In My Mouth__ A different character named Isaiah Coleridge - who also has a sister named Erica/Erika - appears in the story [[The Blood In My Mouth]]. --- ### __Overview__ Versions of Isaiah Coleridge appear in the following novels and stories: [[Blood Standard]] [[Black Mountain]] [[Worse Angels]] [[Uncoiling]] #Character #Coleridge #Antiquity
