Frontier Death Song is a story published in the collection [[Swift To Chase (Book)]]. The story's protagonist has a lot in common with [[Laird Barron]]: he's an experienced sled dog racer in [[Alaska]], owns a loyal [[Dogs|pit bull]] named Minerva (similar to Laird's own Athena), and at some point in his life even makes a living writing short horror stories. Part of the story takes place on the (fictional) island Lamprey Isle in New York State. A person named Ewers Welloc is mentioned in the story. The Welloc family owns a large part of the island. The Welloc family owns the [[Black Ram Lodge]] near [[Olde Towne]] in [[Ransom Hollow]] as well, as we know from [[Catch Hell]] and [[Blackwood's Baby]]. [[Isaiah Coleridge]] from the [[Isaiah Coleridge Series]] novels also owns a dog named Minerva.
