The Children of Old Leech are an alien race that plays an integral part in Laird Barron's universe and are the main antagonists in a number of his stories. The Children of Old Leech worship an alien entity known as [[Old Leech]]. The symbol of a broken [[Ouroboros]] is often used to signify Old Leech and its Children. The Children of Old Leech play a role in a number of stories: In [[Mysterium Tremendum]], a group of hikers come across [[The Black Guide]] (with the Ouroboros adorning its cover) and follow a trail on the [[Olympic Peninsula]] ([[Washington State]]) to a hidden dolmen and tomb at [[Mount Mystery]] where they (maybe?) encounter the Children. In [[The Men from Porlock]], a group of loggers led by [[Miller]] go on a hunting trip at the foot of Mount Mystery in 1923 and stumble upon a hidden, primitive village where the Children of Old Leech are worshipped. They maybe meet one of them in the form of [[Boris Kalamov]]. In [[The Broadsword (Story)]], a resident of [[The Broadsword (Building)]] apartment complex is terrorized, abducted and ultimately transformed by the Children. In [[The Croning]], the Children of Old Leech terrorize main protagonist Don [[Miller]]. The third novel in the [[Isaiah Coleridge Series]], [[Worse Angels]], features the Ouroboros symbolism and an alien-worshipping cult; both signifying the involvement of the Children of Old Leech. In [[The One We Tell Bad Children]], a family of nine siblings watch a movie about Old Leech and His Children and are visited by the Children taking the forms of famous actors. #Character
