Black Bill is a recurring, evil entity in Laird Barron's fiction. Most stories portray Black Bill as some incarnation of the devil, Satan himself or a demon. But, knowing [[Laird Barron]], he might just as well be an alien entity like a [[Children of Old Leech|Child of Old Leech]]. He mostly shows up in the woods near the [[Black Ram Lodge]] in [[Olde Towne]], in the region of [[Ransom Hollow]] ([[Washington State]]). Black Bill is known by many - and I mean _many_ - names, and they're all crazy cool. The names Black Bill, Old Bill, Old Scratch, Splayfoot Bill, Wild Bill, Billy the Black, Mr. Bill, the Old Man of the Wood, the Horned Man, and the Old Goat probably all refer to this same entity. He is mentioned or makes an appearance in the stories [[Hand of Glory (Story)]], [[Blackwood's Baby]], [[The Croning]], [[Catch Hell]] and [[The Glorification of Custer Poe]]. The [[Blackwood]] family is rumored (and pretty much confirmed) to worship Black Bill. The Black Ram Lodge might be named after Black Bill. #Character #Beautiful #Occultation #Croning
